Magnetic Floating Bed

Given that we spend roughly a third of our life asleep, the humble bed has had remarkably little innovation pointed in its direction over the ages. So a new floating bed which hovers 16 inches above the floor represents a significant development in the design of sleeping apparatus.

Debuting at the recent Millionaire Fair in Kortrijk, Belgium , the Magnetic Floating Bed is the result of six years of development by Dutch architect Janjaap Ruijssenaars working with Bakker Magnetics. Using the power of permanent opposing industrial strength magnets to enable it to float, the full scale bed can hold 2000 pounds of weight, while a smaller one-fifth scale platform can safely hold 175 pounds. Already people are beginning to see many applications for the simple yet visually arresting platforms ranging from the basis for a sofa, coffee table, Japanese dining table and particularly in the display areas where museums and high-end visual merchandisers are beginning to conceptualize numerous creative uses.

Four thin cables assure its motionless position and form the only contact with the ground and the only other aspect which concerned us about what is essentially a stunningly simple device was the issue of sleeping in such close proximity to magnetic fields.

Janjaap assures us that should you feel inclined to slip your bankcard into your pyjamas, the magnetic field atop the unit is not enough to degauss the magnetic strip. The field below the unit is a different matter however, and given that the magnetic field is strong enough to suspend nearly 2,000 pounds, it’s not recommended that people with pacemakers go under the bed.

One final note – as all students of physics will no doubt have already twigged, the floating bed is attached to the ground by four thin cables, otherwise it’d slide off the magnetic force field and crash to the floor.

Pricing for the floating bed is decidedly in the millionaire league, with the one-fifth scale unit selling for $145,000 and the full floating bed costing $1,520,000.

Secret Agent Attache Bar

[Photos of interior components coming soon...]

It's unlikely that you can become a MI-5 British Secret Service agent, but with 007's favorite spy gadget, you can certainly play like one.

The Secret Agent Attache Bar is a portable self-contained electronic beverage dispensing system that is built within a slim-line attache case. The unique patented design will accomodate three of your favorite beverages and automatically dispense them in pre-set amount at the touch of a button. The beverages are dispensed through a retractable hidden spout on the side of the case.

The Secret Attache Bar is design for years of trouble free operation and features an internal 12-volt power system that is easily recharged with an 110 volt household outlet (AC adapter included). The patented Smart Electronic Microcircuitry allows for individual pour size adjustment of each beverage (1/4 to 8 ounces). The smart microcircuitry will also shut off automatically if a selection has not been made within 2-3 minutes, of if the retractable spout is in the closed position. Beverages are dispensed by three miniature pumps. Liquid then flows to the multiple orifice spout with prevents intermixing. Back-lit selector keys are easily distinguishable in low light conditions and include interechanageable legends to identify beverages. Three different sizes of bottle connectors are suppled to accomodate most bottles up to 750ml (25.4 ounces). Two brand new 12-volt batteries included.

Our Ready-to-Go Package comes with three complimentary bottles of premium liquor. Subject to local laws, these bottles may be substituted for a $300 discount off the purchase price.

The wine is fleshy, medium to full-bodied, seductive, and filled with glycerin. The finish is all silk. This low acid, big, spicy, lavishly wooded, chewy wine should drink well for another 10-14 years.

Junmai Daiginjo "Ama No To" Saké

This one-of-a-kind Attache Bar is the original prototype (serial #2F02) custom built for a highend retailer. Over $25,000 went into the research and development of this prototype. It is unused and in mint condition. Our extensive research has not found anything like this for sale anywhere, at any price, so that makes this a rare find indeed. Gilligan's Island -Vintage 16mm Film Reels

We're fortunate to able to procure two Vintage 16mm Film Reels of Gilligan's Island. Amazingly, these 39 and 41 year old original film reels are in perfect mint condition. These are complete half-hour episodes.

On September 26, 1964, a simplistic and sappy television program began a course that would become far more than just a fateful trip. Gilligan’s Island, which consisted of just 98 episodes, is now one of the longest running syndicated television shows in history. Since the three original seasons ended more than 30 years ago, Gilligan’s Island has reached cult status with a tidal wave of devoted fans.

This popular television comedy begins with the shipwreck of the S.S. Minnow in a terrible storm. Gilligan, the Skipper too, a millionaire and his wife, a movie-star, the Professor and Mary Ann are all stranded on the island. Music by John Williams (II).

"Castaway Pictures Presents"
UA-Gladasaya production no. 1043 aired on CBS on November 4, 1965
"The Secret of Gilligan's Island"
UV-Gladasaya production no. 1093 aired on CBS on March 13, 1967

These vintage film reels are ultra-rare memorabilia pieces, because nearly all celluloid film reels were destroyed as TV studios converted to BETA and digital formats. In terms of rarity, there were only several copies per episode of studio film ever produced and these may very well be the only ones in existence.

What are their value?
It's extremely hard to put a price on these rare pieces of televison history. There are so few subtantial items available on the market to use for comparison. The following are a couple of examples of what our research has found and an analysis of the potential value of each film reel.

Exhibit A: Recently a single five-cent pack of Gilligan's Island bubble gum sold on eBay for $960!

Exhibit B: A ten cell strip of 16mm film framed with a basic black and white photo of Gilligan's Island currently sells at Retro Collection for $75.00.

Television film speed is 25 fps, so 25 fps x 60 seconds x 22 minutes = 33,000 frames per reel. Divide 33,000 by 10 frames yields 3,300 cell strips. 3,300 cell strips x $75 = $247.500 per reel! We don't recommend anyone cutting these intact historical film reels into pieces and reselling them, so this is just a simple analysis of their potential market value.

Each film reel is packed in its original film box and safely stored in a custom foam cushioned Zero Halliburton case (included).

Here's your chance to own a piece of TV-land history. Instead of putting them up for auction, we are offering them here for immediate purchase for the serious collector or investor at $10,000 per reel or $18,000 for both.

The historical significance of these film reels will certainly continue to drive their value upward. On the other hand, a true collector may not ever want to part with these once they're gotten. Museum curators and private collectors are highly encouraged to inquire.
